Educ8 are representing an Independent Special Needs Schools Group.

The Directors are seeking an experienced SALT to join them in September . This is a new Campus which will be based in Coulsdon for children with SEMH . They are a large and supportive team and can offer you line management, peer observations, joint working and a thorough induction and in house training programme lead by the SEND Lead across the Group.

About the Service

The School-Aged Speech and Language Therapy Service is part of the Schools Group SEND offer, working collaboratively in the Therapy Team as part of the Schools Group.

They aim to deliver the right support at the right time, through assessment and intervention, and equipping families and staff with the skills and resources to work together to help and support children with SLCN. They follow the set models to offer universal, targeted and specialist support for children, families, and the school workforce, and work with children and young people with EHCPs (Education, Health & Care Plan).

About the role

The role will be offered at part time (3 days per week) , across 37 weeks of the year.

The role is term time, plus an additional 15 days per year should the role require attending meetings during school holiday time.

Your role will be to play a pivotal part in supporting children to achieve the outcomes agreed by a Speech and Language Therapist in conjunction with the school and family through a range of activities:

  • Working individually with a child/ young person within the school
  • Modelling strategies to class teachers/ teaching assistants
  • Working with a small group
  • Creating resources for the therapy team

To be shortlisted to interview for this position your application will clearly evidence:

  • Experience of working on communication and interaction targets
  • Ability to adapt your approach and communication style to help children communicate
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently

All therapy staff are provided with a laptop and access to a mobile phone.

In-house supervision will be provided by one of our clinical supervisors
